i'm actually based in asia so it's not all that far. but 10 days is not enough time for a real hike, really... i'm also far from being a millionaire. or marrying one ;-)
i picked nepal cause its what i want to do (did kilimanjaro last year). but you could also go rafting down the yangtze, depending on how far you are from there. i hear you may not be able to do most of the route much longer because of damming and whatnot...
You can go to Nepal and do plenty of short 7 day (or less) hikes, allowing for a day to get to wherever you are going and a day to get back. Nepal is simply gorgeous, and it is currently the best time of year for hikes. You will excercise both body and mind in the most beautiful of ways imaginable. See if you can find a friend to go with: I think hiking in Nepal is an experience where the beauty of the surroundings, the people and culture, really demands to be shared. Also, if you are a SAARC country member, take ID with you, you get special concessions for many things.
