Not so much the question as loved the 'no puppies here!' tag! ;)

alex: when is your birthday? Methinks it is near Christmas, to elicit such a question :).

My Birthday was on the 4th... but my mother and sister's are nearer to christmas, on the 20th and 21st respectively... so celebratory attention is always a bit stretched in my family in the season...

my dad's birthday IS christmas and he always gets ripped off in the presents department because everyone just says that his christmas and birthday presents are the same thing.
and I am assuming JWs stands for Jehovah Witnesses.

volpone: Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a lovely one!

Carolina17: Tell your father that it is the same whenever anyone is born near Christmas, one is always getting short-changed in the present department!

when i was a kid i had to pass every christmas night with my parents at their goddaughter's birthday party. it sucked. she was 6 years younger and all the other kids on the party that were my age despised me. my parents said it was not polite to bring a book to someone's party so i had nothing to do but to sit very quietly with my parents and listen to the grown-up boring chat all night. but the kid always got a lot of presents.
