Well for those wanting to know, we currently use markdown to parse questions and profiles ( http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax). We haven't documented this as we're thinking of switching to a different (and hopefully better) parser soon.

Mmm... Parsers... I know I heard that term in the single computer science course I took. I'm going to say that it... sorts things? Maybe?
parsers? surely you mean 'parsley'? ;D
We've now switched so that links magically link themselves in questions, comments and messages. We no long use markdown.
