dear internet,

Recently, events conspired so that I was forced to ask a person that I had never met to send me a copy of a power point presentation he had done, so that I could adapt it for my own presentation (we both work in the same department, but different areas). This included some photographs he had taken. I could take my own photos, but this could take hours and inconvenience some other people. He seemed happy to do this over the phone, and agreed to send it tonight. It's 8:30, and I still haven't gotten it.

I would rather try and make my own. Be independent. And if he sends it later, don't look at it like you wasted time, and anyway, you might get better stuff together yourself and may well feel good about having done your own work?
If however you relied on it and time is running out, an email might be ok.

And now we sit and wonder... how did it all end?

He emailed me and said he couldn't email it, as the file was too large. He brought it to me on a flash drive this morning.
All is right with the world.
