dear internet,

there's this guy I'm sort of seeing. meaning, we were quite flirtatious for a while, the he broke it off. we had a talk, he said he liked me but didn't want a girlfriend, and he didn't have strong feelings about me, plus he thought I'd been acting sort of strange like I didn't really like him.

then we had sex.

after this he went away on a trip with a class he's teaching, after returning from this trip (which was to another country) he sent me a message he really wanted to see me, he also got me a gift while away (not a fancy one, but it was something I'd said I wanted like a month ago and hadn't bother to get yet) and after he's been back we've spent some time together.

thing is, he doesn't really touch me out in public, and I don't know if it's me who's making him tense about it because I'm not really sure what's going on (and thus on guard), if he just doesn't want to be my boyfriend and don't want to give the wrong impression or if he's just private or whatever.

thing is, we're clearly not just friends, but are we just two people having casual sex and making out a lot or are we sort of, maybe a couple.
