I'm happily single and am quite good at keeping myself entertained - except for the drinking part and the qualifiers about being sad & lonely (which I am sometimes just as anyone would be, but not because I'm single) . . . I read a lot, write, watch a fair amount of TV & movies, cook, and occasionally take a nice long evening walk when the weather is nice . . . and then there are the evenings when I do laundry. Ugh. I would love to share that task with someone!
erm... no free time, or very rarely. if so there's friends, food, the great outdoors, more food, the internet, books, guitars, more food and sleep. but... rare. most rare, that 'free time'. not dependent on status, by the way. single is no different to being with someone! 'free time' is just as important for recharge of battery. 'free time' not to be traded for partnertime, if possible. work- music- book- internet- friend-, even food-time happily, lovingly traded for being with loved one. 'free' time... still required!

I'm not actually single, but TV is how I spend my free time when my SO is elsewhere (like now).

Wait, are you talking about that lovely myth of "free time"? Damn, I can't wait to join the working world...
Plus, what about friends? I hang with all sorts of people who aren't my SO (who lives on another continent.)
