dear internet,

The big thing in the news right now is the foiled bombing attempts in the UK. People were planning on blowing up planes that left the UK and arrived in the US. Now airport security, on both sides of the Atlantic, has reached an all-time high when it comes to what can be brought onto a plane with you.

So my question: Do you think these regulations are too strict or an overreaction?

Well, actually, I think it's acceptable if this extreme precaution is conducted temporarily. But who can guarantee when "safe" really means safe?

I agree with tita, I'm fine with it as long as it is temporary.

whatever it is, it's a bleeping irritation. really, if someone truly wants to hijak and destroy a plane, they could totally MacGuyver it.

Hey, how many recent terrorist plots were foiled by good, old-fashioned investigation and detective work? One.

And how many recent terrorist plots were foiled by forcing travelers to have a shampoo-free vacation? Oh that's right. None.
